We are actively seeking a Building Automation and Controls Sales Representative to join our growing company and engineering team. As a Controls Sales Representative , you will help us strengthen our existing customer relationships and develop new commercial/industrial customers in the Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia Markets. This role will be mostly focused on seeking new owner-direct customers for service work and preventative maintenance contracts. This individual will be tasked to identify and sell Building Automation and HVAC solutions that can help the client achieve their environmental, operational, and financial goals.

  • Prospect and maintain an ongoing professional relationship with Bernward's new and existing customer base
  • Conduct price estimates and quotations for projects and preventative maintenance contracts (with help from your team)
  • Be the customer liaison to deliver a single point of contact selling experience
  • Coordinate and attend site reviews and walkthroughs as required
  • Perform take-off and estimate costs of prospective sales opportunities
  • Participate in opportunities to advance the company’s interests and personal interest including training, business development meetings, and networking associations.
  • Achieve sales and gross margin goals while providing customers with superior value and service

    • High School or GED 2+ years HVAC/Building Automation sales experience (But willing to train the right person)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Individual must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing
    • Proficient in CRM software

    Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor/Associates degree in a mechanical field
    • Proficient with Microsoft products as well as Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Mechanical/HVAC field experience
